If you have been following Lake of the Woods at all the past couple of years, it is probably no surprise the success the Lake Sturgeon has made.  The Rainy River is a hotbed for sturgeon.  The population and average size continues to climb.  A new breed of sturgeon angler has actually evolved due to the strong population of fish, the long season and the incredible fight these fish have.
