March Ice Fishing On Midwest Outdoors TV

Check out late season ice fishing action from Lake of the Woods this weekend on Midwest Outdoors.  The show will air in Chicago and at 10:30am Saturday morning on KSTC channel 45 in the Twin Cities this weekend.  Next weekend Fox Sports North, WI and Midco throughout the Dakotas.

Lake of the Woods is fortunate to have an extended ice fishing season through all of March.  What does this mean?

-Overnight fish houses are allowed on the ice to March 31st.

-As border water to Canada, Lake of the Woods enjoys extended fishing seasons.  Walleyes and saugers are open through April 14th and pike are open all year.

As a northern destination, ice thickness allows an extended season.  March can be an incredible month for ice fishing as the fish are putting on the feed bag for the upcoming spawn.  In addition, the days are longer and the weather warmer which can lead to some hot action.

As always, as ice begins to melt and deteriorate, work through resorts.  Resort personnel are constantly checking ice conditions to make sure travel is safe as possible.
