Mom’s Wild Rice for a Crowd

Ingredients
- 3 lbs wild rice (use lake rice)
- 3 lb bacon, cut into pieces
- 2 lb real butter melted
- 2 lg onions, finely chopped
- 1 1/2 stalks celery, finely chopped
- 4 (14 oz) cans chicken broth
- toasted slivered almonds (optional)
Directions
- Cook rice and fry bacon
- drain the bacon, leaving a small amount in the pan for flavor
- saute onion and celery in 1 lb of butter
- mix all ingredients
- bake until rice has absorbed the chicken broth
