Swiss Green Beans
Ingredients
- 2 (9 oz) pkg frozen (or fresh) french style green beans
- 1/4 c margarine
- 1 1/2 tsp minced onion
- 2 1/2 T. flour
- 1/4 tsp dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp salt
- pepper to taste
- 1 c milk
- 3/8 lb swiss cheese cubed
- 1/4 c chopped cashews
Directions
- Cook green beans, drain
- melt margarine in sauce pan
- add onions, flour, mustard, salt and pepper
- gradually add milk
- cook and stir until smooth and thick
- add cheese and stir until melted
- combine sauce and beans
- pour into greased 1 1/2 quart casserole dish
- sprinkle with nuts
- *** Can be refrigerated and baked next day
- bake 20 mins at 350 degrees
