2018 Zippel Bay Ice Out Pike Tournament Results

John Stanton and Brycen Olson took home the 1st Place prize in an action packed 2 day pike tournament at Zippel Bay Resort. With a record two day total of 81.13 pounds for 12 fish. A total of 34 over 40″ weighed in the contest (21 Saturday and 13 Sunday). The biggest pike of the tournament weighed 20.2 pounds spawned out. Nick Painovich, owner of Zippel Bay Resort, said “the conditions were just right this year”. Water levels were low and with the late ice out the pike were spawned out and chasing baits like crazy.

Check out pictures below of the great couple days! Records were broke and the amount of fish over 40 inches is unbelievable, especially when you think that Zippel Bay is only one bay on Lake of the Woods.
