Small Town Baudette Hosts Big 4th of July

The small town of Baudette sure knows how to do 4th of July right.  The 4th of July tradition has been strong and well done in Baudette for years and with a variety of new events, this year will be epic!  The festivities begin the evening of July 3rd with a fish fry, street dance and beer garden.  Pay It Forward Veterans Event fish fry, Lake of the Woods

If you haven’t been to a small town fish fry or street dance, this is a great chance to feel the true American spirit and certainly part of what 4th of July is all about.  Everyone is welcome to all festivities and encouraged to come.4th of July, 2018, Baudette, MN

After the kickoff events the evening of July 3rd, 4th of July events get kicked off right away the morning of July 4th.  There is a lot going on in town and something for the entire family.

-8am – Noon, Breakfast at the Moose Lodge

-8:30am, Firecracker 5K Walk/Run

-11am – 11:45am, Flag Ceremony, Willie Walleye Park

-10am – 1pm, Lake of the Woods County Museum is open.  If you are a visitor and have not seen this museum, it is impressive.

-11am into the eve, food and merchandise vendors open on Main AveRestored fire truck, Baudette, MN

-11am – 5pm, Free ice cream cones at the Historic Depot (at the end of Main Ave).  Stop in and see their exhibits.

-Noon – 1:30pm, Pie and ice cream social, Baudette VFW #723

-12:15pm – 12:45pm, James Wedgewood, (kid’s entertainment), Willie Walleye Park on the hill

-1:30pm, Kiddie Parade on Main Street

-2pm, Main Parade on Main Street

-3pm – 5pm, Bingo, American Legion

-3:30pm, The Fort Frances Highlanders, Main Ave stage

-4:30pm – 5:15pm, Eric E (kid’s entertainment), Willie Walleye Park on the hill

-4pm – 6pm, Kiddie Races and other activities, Willie Walleye ParkCommunity celebration, Baudette, MN

-5:30 – 6pm, James Wedgewood, (kid’s entertainment), Willie Walleye Park on the hill

-5pm, Bobber Race, located on the Rainy River

-6pm, Arm Wrestling, Main Ave Stage

-7:30pm – 8:15pm, Eric E (kid’s entertainment), Willie Walleye Park on the hill

-10:15pm, Northern Minnesota’s Most Spectacular Fireworks Display.  Displayed over Baudette Bay, the best viewing area is Willie Walleye Park.  Every year, visitors who have never seen this fireworks display comment on how incredible it is for such a small community.  Well, it is and the community takes great pride in it.

As you can see, lots happening over the 4th of July in Baudette.  The 4th of JulyFireworks, Baudette, MN festivities are organized by the Baudette – Lake of the Woods Chamber of Commerce.  Specifically, within the Chamber, there is a 4th of July committee made up of a passionate group of volunteers dedicated to continuing the great 4th of July traditions up at The Walleye Capital of the World, Lake of the Woods and Baudette, MN!

Again, all are welcome to Baudette for the 4th of July festivities.  This is a celebration.  It’s a celebration of America, independence, family values and perhaps, how much we as Americans have to be thankful for.
