5th Annual Bluegrass Festival | The Baudette Depot

The Depot will be hosting their 5th Annual Bluegrass Festival Saturday,  August 3rd, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The music starts at 4:00 p.m.  Burgers, brats, corn on the cob, potato salad, beans and watermelon will be served from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Ice cream and many different beverage choices will be available as well.

$20.00 entry fee with everything included. You won’t want to miss this great event! There will be two performances this year including High 48s and the Becky Schlegel Group.

Be sure to visit the Historic Baudette Depot while enjoying all the music and food! This Depot is the sole survivor of five depots in the Lake of the Woods County. Pitt, Graceton, Cedar Spur and Williams have long disappeared from their original sites. The Depot is the last from its time period that still exists today in the country. Built-in 1923, it replaced two earlier Depots, 1901 and 1908, both lost to fire.

The CN abandoned the Depot in the mid-1980s. In 1997 it was purchased from the Canadian National Railway for a dollar by the Depot Preservation Alliance. In 2005 it was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The rest is history!

Renovations were completed in 2011 with the last exhibit being installed in May 2015! Enjoy all the exhibits showing means of travel to the area in the early and later years not only by rail but by water, automobile and airplane. Go to Baudette Depot for more information on the Depot and this fun family event!

Also taking place earlier that day is the Farmer’s Market. Finish your day at the Depot listening to some great foot-stomping!
