DNR Stocks Pitt Grade with Rainbow Trout

Catch-able-sized Rainbow Trout were recently stocked into the Pitt Grade. The trout were stocked at the confluence of the Pitt Grade and Peppermint Creek, and for four miles upstream of this point. The Pitt Grade is located along the Pitt Grade Forest Road, which begins approximately five miles south of Pitt.

Anglers need a trout stamp validation and a Minnesota fishing license to fish for trout in designated trout streams, such as the Pitt Grade. Trout stamps are not needed for children less than 18 years old or adults who are 65 and older.

For 2017, the stream trout season for the Pitt Grade runs from April 15 to October 1. The possession limit is 5, with only one fish allowed over 16 inches.

You can get a map showing the location of the Baudette area trout streams by calling the Baudette Area Fisheries office at 218-634-2522, or by visiting their website at http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/areas/fisheries/baudette/baudette_trout.html
