Full Service Ice Fishing on Lake of the Woods

For a variety of people, full service ice fishing is the way to go.  Many people have the equipment and know how to ice fish on their own, but as the years go by, being able to go out to a heated fish house that is on fish with the holes drilled and cleaned out is attractive.  What is also attractive is having the fish cleaned at the end of the day.  Some don’t have the equipment, others don’t want to tow their fish house up to the border and others are simply on vacation and are okay with others doing the heavy lifting.  For all of these groups, full service ice fishing is a good choice.

We did exactly that on a recent ice fishing adventure.  Greg Jones and myself had the chance to get out in a fish house on Lake of the Woods.  Using the one two punch of a jigging line combined with a deadstick, we had a great day of fishing, conversation and good laughs.  The memories are great and will never be forgotten.  That is what is all about.

Check out the recent show filmed just last year on The Walleye Capital of the World.

Ice fishing on Lake of the Woods is in full swing.  Being in Minnesota, but bordering Canada, the waters are considered border waters which allow the area to have an extended season.

Fish houses can be left on the lake overnight through March 31st.  The walleye and sauger season lasts through April 14th and the pike season never closes.  This enables some great extended season ice fishing when the rest of the state, and in many cases, region, is closed.
