Get PLOUGHED In Lake of the Woods
Lake of the Woods Tourism invites the community for a town hall meeting to learn more about the 2019 schedule of events, volunteer and sponsorship opportunities. All are welcome.
The meeting will be hosted at the newly remodeled VFW on Tuesday, April 9 at 5:30 p.m.
Lake of the Woods is honored to host the 66th World Ploughing Contest, US National Ploughing Contest and North American Ploughing Championship. These events will take place from August 30th thru September 1, 2019.
The international competition was last held in the U.S. in 1988 and holding its long-awaited return to the U.S. in Lake of the Woods is a huge deal for our community, region, and state.
32 countries from around the world will compete in conventional and reversible ploughing contest, with criteria including straightness, weed control, crown, uniformity and finish, each hoping to take home the coveted international championship.
With the building excitement and of curiosity about the details, we want to give the community an update on how plans are progressing.
