Sliding with Willie
Pictured above is the famous Willie Walleye Park in Baudette, MN. Willie is the famous icon that resides there being a 10,000 lb cement portrayal of the famous walleyes that inhabits these waters of Lake of the Woods. You can’t imagine the number of families that have their picture taken with this famous fish.
Willie oversees a beautiful hillside park where July 4th fireworks are fired off over the Baudette Bay. Hundreds of people sit on the hillside to enjoy this great spectacle. However, Willie also oversees another great time as the snow falls on this beautiful north country. He sits on top of the very best sliding hill in the whole area. You’d have to travel nearly 50 miles to find a better hill. You know the winter season is in full swing when you see numbers of parents and children alike sliding the hill. What great entertainment for young and old. Visitors from many different countries have visited here and experienced this winter wonderland.
