Snowmobile Trail Report 2-15-2017

As we move into some unseasonably warm weather for the middle of February many snowmobilers who have planned a trip north to ride may be getting nervous. Since being in the metro area earlier this week, we realize just how lucky we are to have any snow at all let alone a good amount. We have anywhere from 1-2 feet of snow remaining and more in some areas.

Today as of February 15 our trails are dynamite and the groomers are out as we speak making the trails perfect for an easy ride. This morning snowmobilemap_sm-1-768x576on the lake one groomer went up the Rainy River from Baudette and then west to Warroad. Another started north from Wheeler’s Point to Oak Island and the rest of the NW Angle.

There are some good cracks in the Long Point area but are well staked with caution signs. Use a great deal of safety in these areas.

Land trails are in great shape this year  as we have gotten enough snow to get a good hard pack for riders.

With hundreds of miles of trails and a bunch of snow  think about Lake of the Woods the next time you’re thinking about going for a ride.
