Swiss Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 2 (9 oz) pkg frozen (or fresh) french style green beans
  • 1/4 c margarine
  • 1 1/2 tsp minced onion
  • 2 1/2 T. flour
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 c milk
  • 3/8 lb swiss cheese cubed
  • 1/4 c chopped cashews

Directions

  • Cook green beans, drain
  • melt margarine in sauce pan
  • add onions, flour, mustard, salt and pepper
  • gradually add milk
  • cook and stir until smooth and thick
  • add cheese and stir until melted
  • combine sauce and beans
  • pour into greased 1 1/2 quart casserole dish
  • sprinkle with nuts
  • *** Can be refrigerated and baked next day
  • bake 20 mins at 350 degrees
