Grouse and Small Game Opener a Success

This past weekend, Saturday September 18th marked Minnesota’s 2015 Small Game season opener, and hunters hit the woods with great success. Miles and miles of walking trails and roads that are MN WMA certified south of Baudette stretching west to Warroad are available for hunters to use. 3 species of grouse, rabbits, mourning doves, and woodcock were the game to be found in these areas. Be sure to follow all state regulations: safety first when traveling in open hunting territory!

Have you thought about cast and blast opportunities? Lake of the Woods has many fall fishing options that can still be enjoyed before the ice hits. Many of our visitors will hunt waterfowl early day break and finish the day of fishing, or they will hit the water during the day and hit the trails for grouse and small game during the afternoon to evening hours. The possibilities are endless!

Check out these success stories, and make your plans for your own today!
