The Best Mardi Gras Celebration Outside New Orleans

Sportsman’s Lodge 22nd annual Mardi Gras celebration is right around the corner. While this year’s holiday has technically been ongoing since Jan 6, festivities in Lake of the Woods will commence Saturday, March 30.

So, what exactly is Mardi Gras?  Officially, it’s French for “Fat Tuesday,” and it all relates to Christianity, marking the last day of Carnival season and the beginning of the holy period of Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday (March 6).  Regardless of whether you intend to observe Lent (which extends through until April 18).

Mardi Gras celebrations are serious business and while it’s celebrated in many places,  if you are in the Lake of the Woods area its’ worth checking out Sportsman’s festivities. Food and drink specials starting at 7 pm. Live brand starting at 9 pm. Must be 21 years or older to attend.
