USA Plowing Organization Is Coming to Lake of the Woods

Wednesday, March 13 at 7 p.m Lake of the Woods Tourism and the USA Plowing Organization will host an informational meeting to discuss the 2019 World Ploughing Competition and Event. The meeting will be hosted at Border View Lodge and live-streaming on the Lake of the Woods Tourism Facebook page.

Prior to the 7 p.m. meeting, Border View Lodge will have an optional all-you-can-eat walleye fish fry for $14.99, in addition to other menu options and a cash bar.  We welcome all to join in-person or via Facebook live.

With the building excitement and curiosity about the upcoming event, we want to provide a peek into what we’ve got planned for the competition and event. The President of the USA Ploughing Association (South Dakota), President of the Minnesota Ploughing Associate, USA Ploughing board member (Iowa) as well as Ploughing Association members from Connecticut, Ohio and Illinois will be in attendance to discuss, land layout, accommodations, attendance, competition rules and regulations, event agenda and volunteer and sponsorship opportunities.

The World Ploughing Contest is held in a different country each year. For Lake of the Woods, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.  The event is slated to draw thousands of spectators over three days.  Many coming from the Midwest, Canada and Europe.
