Frost Fest 2016, A Celebration of the Season!

The Baudette-Lake of the Woods Chamber of Commerce is putting on Frost Fest again this year.  Frost Fest is a celebration of the holiday season and runs from November 17 – December 17.

Events begin Saturday, November 19th with a full day of activities including a craft and vendor extravaganza, 5K Run/Walk, silent auction, raffle, window wonderland walk, community lasagna dinner, holiday light and fish house parade, horse drawn wagon rides, community tree lighting and fireworks display.

In addition, there are two shows that same evening.  Britton Pankratz, a professional yo-yo performer and Old McDonald Had a Banjo shows will be performing at the historic Rex Hotel.

The kick off to winter is a special time up in Baudette and around Lake of the Woods.  As The Walleye Capital of the World, Lake of the Woods is arguably the top ice fishing destination in North America. In fact, Target Walleye recently named it #1 ice fishing destination in the U.S.  People come from around the world to experience the adventure of riding out in a bombardier to a heated fish house, ice fishing in comfort and catching delicious walleyes and saugers.

Besides the ice fishing, the area boasts sliding, skating, cross country skiing, winter fat tire bike trails and a variety of shopping and museum opportunities.  If you have a chance to participate in any of the Frost Fest events this year, you are more than welcomed.  Come find out what northern Minnesota nice is all about!
