During the winter (December – March), the lake transforms into an ice fishing haven. Resorts offer heated fish houses across the lake in search of walleyes, saugers, eelpout, perch, and pike.
The spring provides anglers the chance for trophy pike in the many back bays and in some cases, shoreline spawning areas. The pike season is open year round on Lake of the Woods.

The summer provides world class walleye fishing across the lake. Resorts use impressive charter boats to take customers to the best fishing grounds. Some bring their own boat and launch at the many boat ramps, public and private. Fishing is the main activity in these parts with walleyes being the most targeted species.

Fall is special whether it is the beauty of the changing colors, strong migration of birds across the lake or the incredible fishing with the cooling waters. It is a season many look forward to.
